HomeAid Northern Virginia and Stanley Martin Homes Manage Renovation for Christian Relief Services, Alexandria
CHANTILLY, Va., June 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- HomeAid Northern Virginia partnered with Stanley Martin Homes and its Builder Trade Council to renovate the Christian Relief Services transitional shelter in Alexandria. This home will house four adult males and serve as an office for an on-site case manager. A ribbon-cutting ceremony to showcase the updated property will take place Tuesday, June 28, Noon at 8105 Russell Road, Alexandria, Va.

"Thank you HomeAid, for teaming up with us to help solve the problems facing transitional housing in Fairfax County. The programs we run are successful, but the houses we use are old and in need of major repairs," said Lynn Thomas, director of service enriched housing for Christian Relief Services. "Community partners like Stanley Martin Homes and HomeAid make sure that we can offer decent and safe housing for the homeless."

Haiti Relief and Rebuild Update

Executive Director, Paul Krizek February 17, 2011 - The Foundation for the Children of Haiti continue to make a profound difference in the lives of tens of thousands of people over the past year.

In a letter thanking us for our support, the Foundation cited some of the major improvements since the devastating earthquake last year in January. They have rebuilt and upgraded the Hope Hospital, the former Children’s Hospital that had been damaged, and provided critically needed medical equipment and supplies for its operation. With the total repair of the Hope Hospital, and with its major upgrade and renovations and a new operating room, delivery room and completed ultrasound facility, it now is one of the best general hospitals in the country. Hope Hospital has operated 24/7 since the quake struck; treating over 15,000 patients and it will continue to do so. No patients at Hope Hospital are being treated in tents.
